In 1980 I went, with pupils and staff from Penhurst school to the New Theatre, Oxford where I saw JOHN INMAN perform in Pantomime. I think the Pantomime was Mother Goose, with JOHN INMAN playing the role of Widdow Twanky.

During the panto John Inman would regularly revert into his ARE YOU BEING SERVED role of Mr. Humphries by saying 'I'm Free'.

After the Pantomime our school stayed behind and met the whole cast which included BILLY BURDEN who starred in GRACE & FAVOUR.
